Pony Prototype v2 by PlanetPlush Pony Prototype v2 by PlanetPlush
If there's enough interest in my new pony prototype, I will make the pattern available to the public! tumblr: spaceplush.tumblr.com/post/939…

I made a few minor edits and fixed some problem areas. This is version 2 of my new pattern.

If there is enough interest for this, I will release the base pattern onto my Etsy account. The price will most likely be about $10. I do plan on making a complete pony character with mane, tail, and embroidery to use as an example.

Feel free to spread the word!

A strange question, but what do you with the Prototypes that you've sewn after you've perfected your pattern? (Or more accurately, what is the plush in this picture doing right now?)

Right now that plushy is just hanging out on my table! I've made a little pink unicorn using my new pattern and I plan on making a pegasus soon too. I'm going to photograph them all together once I have the set made. No idea what I'll do with them after that.

Would it be weird to offer to buy it after all them cuties are made?

It's all hypothetical, but it's the same color as my OC and I think it would be neat to turn it into a full fleshed pony.
(I do plan on buying your pattern anyway though > 7< )

May I ask, do you trade your plushies for art? I'd love a beanie by you :la:

What sort of license were you planning on using when/if you sell the pattern?

I'll include a copyright notice with the pattern. I don't have it written yet but the pattern will not be for commercial use. Individual artists may sell plushes they have made from the pattern, but it will not be available to use for mass production. The pattern or any patterns derived from this pattern can not be redistributed or sold.

The head's shape really benefits in this design. It looks like a more secure head because of that. Also even though I can't 100% tell I'm sure it avoids a sort of bobble head effect when the stuffing starts to deteriorate over time.

It's very adorable!! The neck seems a bit thick, though. ; - ; don't listen to me, though. I can't sew or make plushies, so I'm not sure how heavy the head ends up being.

I like how it looks, especially how the hindquarters are more defined than in most patterns and how the ears curve around. Very nicely done!

Just because I've said this to myself twice. Would it be possible to move the stitch line for the back portion of the mandible back? I would say it would look better if it came back more instead of going up towards the ear right away.

I'm thinking you didn't do this before because it would cause that area to bulge once stuffed, but since I don't make these I figured you could try it if you think it would work.

Overall I LOVE the shape, it's pretty much just that one stitch line that is making it a little off for me.

Not with the way the head is attached with this pattern. The face is basically a big circle that you sew on. It shouldn't be too noticeable once the mane is attached.

Right on.

The stitch isn't that noticeable but I figured if something could be perfect I'd bring it up. I love your choice in material and this is the best pattern I've seen yet. Some day I want to buy from you!

Very cute! I'd definitely be interested in giving this pattern a try. The seam for the side of the face is very interesting and is not necessarily what I'd try doing right away. If you sell the pattern, you should include wing patterns as well. ^^

Clapping Pony Icon - Lyra Heartstrings   Looks awesome! Very similar to the Commercial Ty Beanie Baby ones.

I wish I knew how to sew things like this using a pattern. I've got the resources, just not the know-how. Good work!

I think this prototype looks great. The neck is much better. I love the seamless neck to head because it's like the official ponies. I agree with the on other person that maybe the nose could be a little more out. Maybe to achieve that where your center head gusset comes down to the nose the head piece seems to be quite straight. I did a quick sketch (sta.sh/0gszf67nulz) of what I am referring to but again I am just a noob at sewing and what I think makes sense might not even work haha. Overall although I have my own pattern I would still buy this just to learn new techniques. Awesome job

Thank you for the quick sketch! That definitely helps because it's hard for me to visualize critique without having reference images. I will try to make the head more like that next. Hopefully the pattern will just need one more edit.
