Applejack by PlanetPlush Applejack by PlanetPlush
Come see Applejack at Bronycon 2014! She's for display only. More pics on tumblr: spaceplush.tumblr.com/post/873…

AJ is made with my new buttercup minky and yellow! I created her main body color myself by dying some Shannon white minky with a specially made dye. Applejack's eyes and cutie mark are machine embroidered along with her mane and tail details. She has satin ribbon accents. I made her hat out of suedecloth and fleece batting. She also has some poly pellets in her feet to help keep her balanced. Applejack is just over 12 inches tall.

WOW such a perfect color! Awesome you got the dye working. I was considering looking into something like that, but not sure how worth it it would be, was probably pretty difficult to get it colored evenly I'd guess? Anyway she looks pretty darn cute and I'm looking forward to seeing her (and you) at Bronycon! c:

Thank you! I can't wait to see you at Bronycon too! Your plushes are super adorable.

It was actually super easy to dye the minky. It took the dye well and I didn't have any problem getting it all even. I'll be making a guide soon on how to do it.

Curious question... How machine washable would she be?

I always wonder about dyed materials, without knowing any better i always assume most are not very colour-fast.

She'd be fine to machine wash. The dye won't wash out.

Wow that dye job came out great!  I always heard it was really hard to dye minky, but I'm glad to hear it worked and didn't ruin the texture!

Her colors are perfect! Seriously, most people make her either too light and yellowish or too dark. Yours is great, very cute plush :D

The plush looks great, does dyeing interfere with the feel/texture of the minky?

Aw she's so cute and perfect! (I really love your ponies)

That buttercup color looks awesome for Applejack! I do wonder though--is it very similar to mango? They look quite the same)

Thanks! It's totally different from mango. The mango photographs well but it's very yellow in person. The buttercup I dyed is a light orange/tangerine.

I'll have to get myself some buttercup then, finally, the perfect shade of "orange" for my OC :)
